Anti-Bias Curriculum
Anti-bias education helps children recognize unfairness, value diversity, and develop confidence in their identities.
We can do this by:
- Using books and toys that represent all cultures, races, genders, and abilities
- Discussing fairness and kindness in age-appropriate ways
- Creating safe spaces to talk about differences

DAP
What is DAP?
Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is a teaching framework that supports the individual growth of every child, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. It’s about meeting children where they are and teaching in ways that work for their stage of development, culture, and life experiences.
Three Core Elements of DAP:
- Know how children develop
- Know each child as an individual
- Know each child’s family and cultural background
“Fair isn’t everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need to succeed.”
Inclusive Classroom Actions
- Represent all families and cultures visually
- Provide multilingual books and materials
- Celebrate diverse holidays
- Allow children to express identity through play, art, and language
